This is the BCC! aka Boot Camp Clik. This lesser known collection of New York rappers not only draw comparisons to the Wu-Tang Clan because of quantity of members but also because of the quality of their members. Boot Camp Clik was made of a few small groups: Heltah Skeltah, Buckshot and Black Moon, Smif-N-Wessun (later changed to Cocoa Brovaz for commercial acceptance), and O.G.C. (Originoo Gunn Clapaz).

Funny that rappers get tons of flack for rapping about guns, but certain Vice Presidential candidates (and the current Vice President actually) are loved for their crazy gun-toting antics.. Anywho, the state of hip-hop is not what it was in the 90’s. I was driving around listening to the album “Boot Camp Clik’s Greatest Hits” last week and it dawned on me that I will never get to hear hip-hop like this ever again. Then, the other day I went to go sign on to my Myspace account and what do you know? The featured artist is Heltah Skeltah. What??? Where you guys been? So I’ve compiled the best songs from the BCC.

Here’s the New New. It most definitely is NOT the same shit I was bumping 10 years ago. But hey that’s the whole point of the post.

Heltah Skeltah – D.I.R.T. [Zshare] (2008)

Heltah Skeltah – The Art of Disrepekinazation (2008)

This shit right here, words don’t even describe. Great group makes ones of the greatest hip hop beats ever using the most ideal sample ever. You Goddamn right. SUPER MARIO BROS. I never thought I hear this again!

Cocoa Brovaz – Super Brooklyn (2001)

The rest of this shit is also a must hear:

O.G.C. – Bounce to the Ounce
[YSI] (1999)

Cocoa Brovaz ft. Raekwon – Black Trump [YSI] (1998)

Heltah Skeltah – I Aint Havin That [YSI] (1998)

Boot Camp Clik – Headz R Reddee Pt. 2 [YSI] (1997)
