I’m in my hotel room in Milan right now watching Game 5 of the NBA Finals, packing and getting ready to go to Ibiza tomorrow. What else can I say, life is good. I had a real good time in Italy, great food, great parties, and the best company a person could ask for. Thanks T! Last night I actually had a DJ set at this cool lounge called Hollywood in Milan, which is ironic because I often DJ in Hollywood back home in Cali. Last night I played one of my favorite new tracks which comes from The Roots. They reworked one of my favorite tracks from last year, “Dear God” by Monsters of Folk. I’ve had this track for a couple of weeks now and have been meaning to share it. So here is the Roots reworking and the original Monsters of Folk track.

STROMAE
Posted in MUSIC on June 10, 2010 by KeyvonI left Nice today and have finally arrived in Italy. The country of cheesy men, fast cars and the best food in the world. So to bid adieu to France I am posting this new hot French track from Belgian artist Stromae. This song was blowing up the charts in both Sweden and France. This shit is pretty hot and very catchy once you learn the words (even though I’m still not sure what they mean). I’ve been singing this song non-stop since I got to Europe. It kind of sneaks up on you after a few listens, kind of like Usher’s “OMG.” I just left this morning, but I gotta say I’m already missing the French Riviera. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, especially Monaco. And the women? My God… the women!

JUNIP
Posted in MUSIC on June 8, 2010 by KeyvonI left the beautiful country of Sweden on Monday and am now traveling through the ridiculously amazing French Riviera. I landed in Marseille yesterday, hit up Cannes this morning, and am blogging from my hotel room in Nice as we speak. But before I get into French mode I wanted to give Sweden some more love by posting one of my favorite Swedish artists, Mr. Jose Gonzalez. Jose is a great singer-songwriter who grabbed my attention when he lent his vocals to a few tracks on Zero 7’s The Garden. Now Jose is back with a new project called Junip, and the first single Rope and Summit is infectious. I just missed him in Europe, but Junip will be hitting my hometown of LA while I’m gone, so make sure you check em out for me.
STOCKHOLM + NIVA
Posted in MUSIC on June 5, 2010 by KeyvonWhats up all? I know it’s been a few days since I’ve posted anything, but don’t worry I’m doing ok, just been traveling a lot. If you’re a devoted fan you may noticed that I have updated my photo page with pics from the Eurotrip. I started in London, now I’m in Stockholm, Sweden chilling with some good friends and partying my ass off. It’s “Studenten” in Stockholm right now so the city is crazy with kids just graduating from high school, hence the wild pic above. Coincidentally a week before I left LA I received a few tracks from Stockholm based artist Niva. They were some of the best tracks an artist has personally sent me in a while. It’s some “chillwave” stuff that is becoming a bigger genre by the day. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to meet up with Niva in Stockholm, but I have an interview with Koop’s Oscar Simonsson tomorrow that I’m real hyped about. The video interview will be up on the site shortly so stay close!
GOLDEN BLOGGEN MUTHAFUCKING EUROTRIP!!!
Posted in MUSIC on June 1, 2010 by KeyvonSo I’ve been talking about this day for about a year now, but it is finally here. I’m blogging from a pub inside of a London train station. I made the leap. I will be traveling around Europe for the next few weeks partying my ass off and sharing the experience with all of you. I got some cool stuff planned, so hopefully everything will work out smoothly. And if it does, you are not going to want to miss it. Europe’s got the whole Electronic music scene on lock, so I’ll be seeing things I could only dream of when I was in the states. Case in point the Sonar Music Festival in Barcelona with headliners Chemical Brothers, as well as a special Ibiza trip in the future. And that’s just the tip of the Iceberg Slim. So keep coming back for more updates and feel free to hit me up. But most importantly dont forget to check out our Photo Page and Video Site.
In the meantime check out these fitting jams!
