It’s been a minute since I have graced GB with a Kool Ethan Mixtape, but I have been waiting for a special occasion. And today is the day! This Friday Golden Bloggen’s own Kool Ethan & Sepulveda will be spinning at Voyuer in West Hollywood. If you’ve never been to Voyeur, it is a very unique experience. It’s one of the only clubs I’ve been to where you can hear some quality DJs while a bunch of topless dancers perform in front of you. Get ready for a night of debauchery! To get you hyped for this weeknd I have posted my new mix, the “All Rise Mixtape.” It is guaranteed to get the party started. If you like what you hear make your way down to Voyeur this Friday night. Last week I posted some tracks from my new obsession The Weeknd. If you thought that music was sexy wait until you see this motherfucking video. The video stars Wesley Jonathan from City Guys and What I Like About You as well as the unbelievably sexy Charlie Pearl. Charlie and I went to Pali High together, and even though she was a lowly freshman when I was a big dog senior it seems like she’s grown up big time. I asked who directed this video and she said it was anonymous. That’s too bad, cuz dude did a great job. Can’t wait to see more from all these cats; The Weeknd, the director, and Charlie Pearl.

This tune from the enigmatic Mr. Little Jeans is one of most heart stopping tracks I’ve heard all year. I have to give credit to Arcade Fire for writing such a great song, but what Mr. Little Jeans brings to the table is so haunting it demands your attention. I don’t know much about Mr. Little Jeans but what I do know that is that it is a she . I’m not sure if she produced this track herself but I’m loving that glitchy electronica feel. Reminds me of the SBTRKT and Yukimi ditty I posted a few weeks back. High honor. Keep em coming Mr. and please let me know if you are coming to L.A. soon.

I was recently introduced to the Weeknd while listening to my boy D Fish’s show on KXLU. I was immediately intrigued by his mix of Thug R&B and indie Singer-Songwriter. Not since Cody Chestnutt have I heard a guy take on such different genres with an urban spin. But I must say the Weeknd’s music is much cleaner, focused, and simply better than Cody’s work. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from this Canadian artist as he has been linked to another Canadian R&B-ish singer, Drake.
