“Umshimi Wam”, an experimental short film directed by Harmony Korine and starring Die Antwoord has got to be one of the strangest videos I have ever seen. Though technically not a music video, it does involve some of the South African group’s music. If you’ve never heard of Harmony Korine, he is responsible for writing the screenplays for Larry Clark’s great indie flicks Kids and Ken Park, as well as writing and directing his own masterpiece Gummo. If you’ve seen any of those films, you can tell dude is out there. So his pairing with oddball rap group Die Antwoord would appear to be a perfect combination. Or… does it just make for the weirdest 15 minute’s caught on film?
