ODDISEE

Newcomer Oddisee just released his debut album People Hear What They See on iTunes this month and it might be the best Hip-Hop release so far this year. The DC native is one of the most prolific lyricists I’ve heard in a while. His flows carry weight and have some serious substance. He and Childish Gambino are easily the best 2 rappers I’ve heard  in the past 5 years. But if you’re looking for something a little more mature than Childish, more Common than Eminem, then you gotta peep Oddisee. And get this, dude even produces his own shit. He is a rare mix of Elzhi and RJD2. The video above and free track below are not on the CD. You gotta buy that shit for yourself.

NEW FRANKY OCEAN

I meant to post this last week, but you know life got in the way. So here is the brand new track from LA’s own crooning and swooning R&B King Frank Ocean. It was just announced that he will be releasing a new album this summer. The brand new 10-minute track is called “Pyramids” and I think this shit is hot. I’ve been very impressed by Frank. He’s a little more accesible than the Weeknd, and more talented than all the other young R&B cats out there. Get em Frank
