This folksy blues from US born Jessie Baylin is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard in a while. I’m a sucker for some really good acoustic Slow Girl and Jessie blew me away with this joint. She has worked with some pretty big names, including Norah Jones on her debut and the Watson Twins on her latest album Little Spark. And since we’re name dropping, I guess I’ll mention that she is married to the drummer of Kings of Leon. That Wikipedia has a lot of info. My own take is that Jessie’s “Hurry Hurry” is reminiscent of one of my favorite tracks from last year, “Our Hearts are Wrong” by Jessica Lea Mayfield. Jessie comes from that Hotel Cafe school of singer-songwriter, so her skills are definitely not in question. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more of her stuff on episodes of Grey’s Anatomy or a new Alan Ball series.
