Jessy Lanza is a fresh new face from the UK making some of that sexy, Slow Girl that we love so much at GB. Her album (debut?) Pull My Hair Back was released on Hyperdub Records on September 9th. Her lead-off single “Keep Moving” is some of that funky, electronic pop that is slowly making it’s way into the mainstream. It’s not as R&B-ed out as AlunaGeorge, but not far off. She falls somewhere in between AlunaGeorge and Jessie Ware, but “Move Closer” has some of the dubby flare of label mate Burial. Her melodies are very welcoming and the production is tight, I can’t wait to hear more from her and more artists exploring this growing genre.
