SHOE SCENE SYMPHONY

Posted in MUSIC with tags , , , , on May 15, 2014 by Keyvon

Here is some disco house dancey-ness from two So-Cal locals calling themselves Shoe Scene Symphony. Seems like they gained some traction by getting their Lorde remix played on mainstream radio. Congrats to them for that, but I’m more enamored by their House remixes of some popular R&B tracks from the turn of the Century. As some die hard readers may know, I am obsessed with Aaliyah remixes, and they do a pretty nice job remixing her Romeo Must Die anthem “Try Again”. They also give a sexy disco house remix of Janet’s “Deep”. For some dudes from the OC, I’m pretty impressed. Keep em coming guys and hit me up if you ever make it up to LA.

JUST KIDDIN RETURNS

Posted in MUSIC on May 8, 2014 by Keyvon

Remember Just Kiddin who dropped that epic Usher remix a couple years ago? Well they’re back with some more sexy house music for your ears. The UK duo’s track features some male vocals and nice synths that would fit nicely next to some of that new Tensnake. Loving this sexy soulful house takeover happening right now. Let me know what y’all think. Enjoy!

TENSNAKE’S “GLOW”

Posted in MUSIC on March 20, 2014 by Keyvon

German DJ/Producer Tensnake has just released his debut album Glow. It’s crazy to think this is Tensnake’s debut album. Seems like he’s been in the game, making disco inspired house tracks, for a while now. The first track off the album is “Good Enough to Keep” featuring Niles Rodgers and Fiora. Disco legend Niles of Chic fame has been popping up all over the place in the dance scene lately, working with the robots, Disclosure and HARD. You can definitely hear him slapping his funky ass bass halfway through the track, and Fiora’s voice is a sexy accompaniment to the song.

You can buy the album Glow HERE

Some of you might be aware of my obsession to snag as many Aaliyah remixes as possible. Well, here is another one. This time Aaliyah gets a thumping, funky deep-ish house remake by Ferdinand Webber and Fabich. The track is fittingly titled “Aaliyah”. This one is primed for dancefloor. It gets my ass shaking anyway.

SLOW JAMS

Posted in MUSIC on February 20, 2014 by Keyvon

How come the best R&B recently has been made by white boys. First inc, now James Vincent McMorrow and Shy Girls get in on the act. It’s great though? Not since Jon B have I been this hyped for some “Blue-eyed soul”.  I’m kidding of course, but these songs seem to be heavily inspired by R&B, not just soul music, but that R. Kelly/ D’Angelo drop your panties shit. These are a couple smooth, slow tracks that I can’t get enough of. Consume!
