I have praised Rap Goddess Iggy Azalea for a couple years now, even jumping to calling her possibly the greatest female rapper of all-time. Though that argument is up for discussion, what is not up for discussion is Iggy’s undeniable sex appeal and her amazing ass. Though the latter is not fully on display in this video (like in most of the artist’s other videos), she actually might have delivered her best video to date: A spot-on spoof of the 1995 classic Clueless. Iggy plays Alicia Silverstone’s iconic Cher, and the scene’s are shot on the same location as the film, using identical scenes and what seems to be even the same house as the Valley house party! It is truly an amazing video. Gonna be hard to top this one in 2014.

Basement Jaxx are one of the best electronic acts of all time. They put on a amazing live show, throw down great DJ sets and are some of the best MUSICIANS making EDM. Their new video for “Back 2 the Wild” showcases just how out there they can get. The song isn’t too pounding or housey, but that’s where Melecthtric steps in. One of my favorite things about Soundcloud is that artists and producers are always coming up with random ass genres and words to describe their music.  Melechtric seems to have adopted the phrase Bongo House for his booty shaking remix of this Jaxx track. What does Bongo House sound like? Imagine Bonde Do Role and Solidisco coming together to make a Tropical dancefloor burner. I already got my Pina Colada in hand.

A friend just sent me this video of a super catchy song by German singer DENA. “CDRSP” is one of the best new songs I’ve heard this year and like my recent post of a video from ADI, this reminds me a lot of M.I.A. Apparently M.I.A. is having a profound effect on female musicians from Eastern Europe. The single was released on Kitsune a last week with remixes from Robot Koch among others. Pick it up HERE.

New albums usually drop Tuesday. Two weeks ago was A$ap Rocky. Today was Tegan and Sara. So far I’m very pleased with both purchases. A$ap’s got nice production from Clams Casino, guest spots from Danny Brown and the 3 guys in the video above. Tegan and Sara have the big girly power pop sound and are getting better with each album. Here is the Knocks remix of their first single “Closer”.

Israeli born singer-songwriter Adi Ulmansky just sent me her wild music video for “A.D.I.” Her braggadocios track blends electronica and hip hop in a way where I can’t help but make comparisons to  another 3 lettered artist M.I.A. The song is fun and dancey but it was the video that made me take notice. The graphics and that home video quality is so bad its good. She has a mixtape dropping soon, so we’ll see if she is just a gimmick or the real deal.

This is my favorite video of the year so far and one of my favorite songs of 2012. I first saw this video Niki & The Dove on MTV2’s 120 Minutes with Matt Pinfield. Yes that show still comes on.. so watch it! Niki & The Dove hail from Sverige. Leave it up to the Swedes to make great female driven pop-electronica, for example the Cardigans, Concretes, the Knife, Lykke Li, Robyn, Little Dragon et al. It’s what they do.  This duo just released their debut album earlier this month and will be touring later this year. Not sure why they’re not coming to LA though. So add that shit to your schedule Niki & the Dove. What you to good for LA?

Nina Kraviz is a Serbian DJ/Producer who specializes in “Privat House” according to her Facebook page. She makes some sexy, deep, dark house beats and I fucking love her for that. Turns out she’s pretty good looking too. An added bonus which I’m sure will help her in her search for stardom. But it’s actually her music that has everybody a buzzin’. This track was selected as the #1, that’s NUMBER ONE, track of 2011 by the curators at Beatport. No small accomplishment. She will be spinning at the excellent electronic music festival Sonar in Barcelona next month. So if you are anywhere near Spain, be sure to go to Sonar and check out this lady’s wonderful music.
